St Albans Striders made the most of the early May bank holiday with a host of impressive performances on the track and roads.
At the MK festival of running Emily Hickey-Bird ran three hours 27 minutes for a marathon PB, and there was a PB too for Nick Buttenshaw over half that distance, knocking four minutes off in his 1:30.
Chris Wrighton took first place at the Watford 10k with a time of 36:55 and he was joined by Freya Weddell, who was first lady finishing in 41:28 in what proved to be slippery conditions due to torrential rain.
On the trails Kate Dixon and Helen Cartlidge took one and two at the Kimpton 10k.
Despite the muddy conditions Carole-Anne Upton managed to finish two minutes faster than her PB with 50:08 while Eva Dixon of St Albans Athletics Club also stormed to victory in the 4k at the same event.
With the Senior Herts Championships being held in Stevenage, several Striders were also in action on the track.
Joe McCormick took first place in the 1500m while there was a gold too for Paul Stack in the MV50 5,000m, setting a new club record in the process with his time of 18:07.
He was joined on the podium by Andrew Mayer to complete another Striders' one-two.
