St Albans Striders face a final day showdown as they look to retain their Midweek Road Race League Division One title.
They head into the fourth round at Trent Park, Cockfosters, top of the pile, but a win on the night for round three hosts Orion Harriers means they are in hot pursuit.
The Striders still had a very good evening at the event in Chingford, thankfully free from the problems that affected round two in Watford where a number of the field were sent off course in error.
The Striders' men in particular were in top form as they topped the male standings, four inside the top 10 and another just outside.
Will Lindsey took the individual win, six seconds ahead of team-mate Stephen Buckle, while Matthew Cooper was sixth and Chris Dennell ninth.
Will Bowran was 13th, 21 seconds away from 10th.
The ladies were just beaten into second place on the night but still had some mightily impressive performances.
Five made the top 10 and another two were in the top 20.
Freya Weddell was second with team-mate Hannah Burkhardt in third.
Penny Habbick (sixth), Florence Miles (eighth) and Megan Walker (ninth) were the next three home with Kate Dixon 14th and Jenny Maginley 18th.
