Harpenden stayed top of the Herts Cricket League Premier Division and took a big stride towards clinching it come the season's end - as Potters Bar were held to a draw.
Harps beat Bishop's Stortford by 65 runs at home while Bar were held by town rivals, Old Owens.
All of which means Harpenden now have a 35-point advantage with seven games still to play.
Their win at the Common was built around two huge innings.
Cole Briggs got 73 in 62 balls, including eight fours and four sixes, part of a second-wicket partnership of 101 with James Latham, who chipped in with a more leisurely 36 in 73 deliveries.
Andrew Neal was slightly slower than Briggs too, albeit no less impressive as he got 75 in 72 balls, smashing four fours and four maximums.
A late flourish by Alex Gosling (34) left Harpenden on 283 when all their wickets had gone.
Stortford, with just one win to their name, started the innings well, with their top five all getting into double figures.
The best of them was Joe Hawkins on 51 but his departure in the 33rd over signalled the beginning of the end.
Dominic Clutterbuck (34) tried to rescue something alongside Simon Lindop (16*) but their last-wicket stand floundered after 41 runs, leaving Stortford all out for 218.
Harry Seagrave did the majority of the damage for Harpenden with 6-51 in his 16 overs.
Radlett's game with West Herts ended in a draw.
The Cobden Hill hosts batted first and made 249-8 thanks to a superb century by Kabir Toor.
He finished on 106 with 11 fours and four sixes among his total.
And they looked to be closing in on victory when they had West Herts on 168-9 after 47 overs.
That left eight overs to remove the final pairing of Bill Gage and Ian Gurney but the tailenders dug in to reach 183-9 at the end.
Jayden Broodryk led the Radlett bowling with 3-43 while there were two wickets each for Md Nidheesh, Anthony Hill and Toor.
St Albans suffered a big loss against Letchworth Garden City, the 82-run win moving the north Herts side above Saints at the foot of the Championship.
Both are still in huge danger of relegation but a victory for the Clarence Park side would have given them a real shot of survival.
As it was, they watched the visitors hit 209-8, Max Capaldi getting 5-48 and Ashish Padki 3-70, before they were dismissed for just 127 in 54 overs.
Barnaby Fitch did his best to snatch the draw with 39 in 80 deliveries but he was the last man out.
Redbourn are 18 points above the relegation zone in Division One after falling to a 114-run loss at Luton Town & Indians.
They could only make 80 as they tried to chase down 194 from the home side.
Ed Hales top scored with 20 while earlier Dan Roe had taken 4-25.
In Division Three B, Wheathampstead beat Northwood by 66 runs but London Colney lost by 55 runs to Northchurch.
