If Carlsberg did bank holiday weekends they would probably just use the Colney Heath template.
All three senior sides won but the highlight was an incredible 17-1 win for the ladies in the Eastern Region Division One South that rightly stole the show.
Amy Phillips and Cally Salter got hat-tricks while there were braces for Sophie Joseph and Oliva Corbett.
The other seven came from Abbey Williams, Eustacia Randles, Mel Godino, Lacey Kavanagh-Blake, Darci Harewood, Mia Simmonds and Maddie Gorton.
Harley Fonti got both goals as the reserves beat Chalfont St Peter Res 2-0 in the Suburban League while the senior men got their FA Vase campaign off to a winning start and in fine style too.
They beat Wivenhoe Town 4-0 at the Recreation Ground to ease into the second qualifying round.
They almost started perfectly but a cracking effort from George Hughes was pushed over the top by a superb save.
It didn't take long for them to get their noses in front though, 12 minutes with Hughes providing the pass for Sam Ejjayha's sweet low drive to go off the inside of the post.
Eight minutes later it was 2-0 when Ejjayha turned provider, George Sippetts beating a defender before rounding the keeper and calmly stroking the ball in the empty net.
He had one ruled out for offside just before the break, perhaps unjustly, but the Magpies did not let up in the second period.
Both Sippetts and Hughes had shots cleared off the line in quick succession but it was 3-0 on 52 minutes, Jamie Fulton playing the ball to Hughes inside the box and he promptly drilled his shot into the bottom left corner.
Sippetts hit the post as Colney continued to swarm forward and Sam Denham then shot narrowly wide after a good run from Tejon Brown.
The scoring was finally wrapped up five minutes from time.
Man of the match Fulton played the ball inside for Lee Dykes to run onto and supply the instant strike.
The Magpies will now play Stanway Rovers of the Essex Senior League at home on September 21.
London Colney could not join them but they did give Premier Division Winslow United a real fright.
The visitors to Cotlandswick are sitting second in the Premier Division but only managed a 1-0 success, Aaron King scoring in the first half.
Harpenden Town join the competition at the next stage when they go to Chalfont St Peter.
To avoid a potential blank weekend, they rearranged a trip to Arlesey Town in the Spartan South Midlands League Premier Division.
However, they did not prove to be a good decision as they were beaten 1-0, despite the hosts playing with 10 men for the whole of the second half.
Alex Cathline had been sent off on the stroke of half-time for two yellow cards, and it was his goal that gave Arlesey a fourth win of the season and lifted them third in the table.
Harps are now 13th having lost the last three league games and not won in four.
They have progressed in the FA Cup though, reaching the first round qualifying which is on Saturday at home to St Ives Town of the Southern League Premier Division Central, two divisions higher than Harps.
