Harpenden Town's charge at the top of the Eastern Region Region Women's Football League shows no signs of stopping another victory.
They beat Newmarket Town 3-1 at Rothamsted Park to make it four wins from four, leaving them two points clear at the top of Division One North and the only side still to hold a perfect record.
The game could have been done and dusted in the first half, had it not been for a string of fine saves from Newmarket keeper Dominika Szary.
She was beaten once, Sophia Amanor getting onto the end of a Rebecca McShane through ball on 30 minutes and finishing well from 12 yards.
But the list of saves was long with McShane, Amanor, Jasmine Hughes and Jaime Curtain all denied by Szary.
And five minutes into the second period, the significance of those stops seemed to take on greater value with a Newmarket equaliser.
Harpenden keeper Sophie Harris had only had one shot to save in the first half, an effort from Millie Docking, but she could do nothing about a lofted attempt by Katie Spier from 30 yards, presented to her by a home defensive error.
The visitors sensed a change in the momentum at this point and Docking was denied again by Harris, getting down to her low drive in the immediate aftermath of the goal.
But slowly Harpenden regained their composure and on 69 minutes, they regained the lead.
Chloe Dinsey was provider this time but the outcome was the same, Amanor finding the net with a low drive.
Natalie Cloy then shot narrowly wide of the far upright with Szary rooted to her line although the keeper was required to stop Amanor from completing her hat-trick.
But it was only a matter of time for that eventuality and with a minute to go Kacee Warren played a long ball forward for the star striker to run onto, tucking it beyond Szary to seal the win.
St Albans Schools hosted their annual pre-season festival at Colney Heath with visiting sides from Brent, Newbury, Wokingham, Stevenage and Dacorum added to the hosts' own Yellows, Blues and U10s.
A spokesman said: "It was a thoroughly enjoyable morning and all of our sides performed brilliantly and sometimes didn’t get the results their football deserved.
"The U10s had a tough intro to this level and learned so much in a short time. Even though they didn’t score, they should be proud of what they produced. Playing against teams a year older, they weren’t over-awed and played some fine stuff.
"Manager Mike Fetters was very happy with the morning's work.
"The Blues didn’t concede a goal and were unbeaten in their four games, their goals coming from Bobby Barrett, Fionn Harrington and Zayne Chapman.
"A very satisfying morning for manager Tom Spratt who is looking forward to the season starting next week in Gloucester.
"The Yellows played some delightful football and they were superb in all games.
"They scored some superb goals with the best from captain Zach Landau from 35 yards. Further strikes came from Callum Leith (two), Ted Burgoyne-Richards and Joshua John."
Colney Heath U18s are through to the FA Youth Cup second qualifying round, two matches from the first round proper, after a 4-0 win at home to Enfield Borough.
Three goals came in the first half.
Ethan Oba set up the first with good work on the left before crossing low into the six-yard box for Geo Johnson to score.
Johnson then had a shot saved but the rebound fell to Francis Tortora to make it 2-0.
The third followed a Freddie Quinn corner kick kick that was powered home by the head of Finn Carpenter.
The final goal did not arrive until three minutes from time, Jack Johnson crossed and Quinn scored from close range.
Heath's senior men fell to a 2-0 loss away to Spartan South Midlands League Premier Division leaders MK Irish.
The home side have now won all seven of their league games, scoring 25 and without conceding a single goal.
For the Magpies, it was a fourth defeat on the spin and has dropped them down to 10th.
This was a much improved performance though and both sides had chances before Irish took the lead on 41 minutes.
George Shrieves had the first attempt but was denied by a tremendous save from Connor Sansom.
However, the ball ran loose to Mason Spence and he curled a beautiful shot into the far corner.
The Heath defence remained resolute in the second period and when the four of Dominic Knaggs, Sam Denham, Alex Strazza and Sam Doolan were breached, Sansom was there to pull off another fine save when he tipped the ball over the bar.
The pressure would eventually tell with Irish getting a second goal.
With the Magpies attacking, they were beaten back and as Sansom tried to send the ball back into the Irish areas, a miscue allowed Ben Shepherd to seal the win, despite the skipper's best efforts.
The reserves won though, beating Eversley & California A 6-1 at home in the Suburban League.
Harley Fonti got two with the others from Jack Wilson, Freddie Quinn, Olamilekan Emijou and James Samways.
The ladies, however, were beaten 2-1 to Southend United, falling below the Shrimpers at the top of ERWFL Division One South.
Amy Phillips had put them in front but two goals from Hannah Smith saw Southend take all the points.
