The Stevenage Marathon is held once every 10 years - making the victory for one St Albans Strider something of a big milestone.
Steve Buckle took first place in a blistering two hours 40 minutes 32 seconds, over nine minutes ahead of his nearest rival.
There was good representation from others in yellow and blue too.
Andrew McKillop came fourth in his age category (3:19:41) and was also part of the county championship silver medal winning team alongside Alex Johnston (3:29:24), Seb Rowe (3:29:26) and Steve Bowran (3:41:33).
However, Will Bowran would have taken the family bragging rights for the weekend, beating beating his dad by one second.
Carrie Frazer also came 12th in her category, with a time of 4:37:37.
The half marathon, which unlike the full distance is held every year, saw Freya Weddell (1:20:01) and Jim King (1:20:40) both came first in their categories.
Will Lindsey delivered an excellent second place (1:14:28), representing St Albans Athletics Club.
There was a significant milestone in the club one day earlier too.
Jenny McGinley completed her 500th parkrun in style, towing a couple of balloons behind her over the St Albans course.
She finished in 24:25, having to manoeuvre through rain and mud.
She had taken the win in the female race back in 2012 at the first St Albans Parkrun, winning then in a time of 20:31.
And since, across a total of 86 venues, she has taken the first female spot in exactly half.
